What are the procedures for abroad customers to enjoy NBL Internet Banking Facility?
First of all, download the Application Form from NBL website (http://nepalbank.com.np/bank/general.php).
Fill up the form. Please remember, your signature should match with the saved signature in bank
All the fields are mandatory; hence do not skip any field in the form.
Scan that filled-up Application Form and send it to relevant branch, where your account resides. Email address of branches can be obtained from NBL website(http://nepalbank.com.np/bankoverview/network.php)
Please remember that, NBL Internet Banking Service is available in 44 computerized branches. (can be viewed by clicking on computerized network link of home page).
When your account will be opened, you have to follow the procedures mentioned in 5 and 6.
How will I know about my Internet Banking Account?
When you submit the Application Form through email, it takes some hours for processing. Thereafter, you will get an email from Nepal Bank, which will guide you through the rest of the procedures.
What should I know about after opening the Internet Banking Account?
To use this service, you have to follow following process.
Click on Internet Banking User Login link, which will open login window
From your email, copy and paste your User name and Password
For the first time, Internet Banking Application asks you to change your password. Please type the new password, but remember, that password should be according to NBL Password policy (see 6).
From the next login, if you type the wrong password for 5 consecutive times, system will automatically lock your Internet Banking Account.
How NBL Password Policy is applicable in this service?
According to NBL Password Policy, few things are mandatory in password, which is also applicable to this service.
Password should contain at least 5 characters.
Password should not match with username.
Password should contain at least one non-alphanumeric character. For eg. Nxt#2u
While changing password, it should not match with preceding three passwords.
What I have to do, if my account is locked because of incorrect password attempt?
You have to write an application to the related branch. Application should contain following information:
Your valid signature
Send the scanned copy of this application to relevant branch through email
What are the general precautions of using Internet Banking Service?
Don't tell your password to others
As far as possible, only use your personal computer for this service.
When you finish your work, do not forget to log out.
